Clowning around

Vibrant costumes, music and dance, sensitivity and intuition. JAMS Jammy Dodgers will engage and captivate care home residents, taking them out of the ordinary to a place where the moment is playful and happy.

Jammy Dodgers, Tulip, Lupin, Poppy and Clementine are brightening care homes with their bright personalities and mischievous ways. According to staff at one of the homes we visit, a number of residents who are normally reluctant to engage responded very well to 'clown’. In their words, "Clown is a winner, it’s fun and wonderful”.

Clowning is a relatively new arts activity for elders and people living with dementia and JAMS are proud to be one of the only company of clowns developing in England. The benefits within the care home for residents are multiple and include: friendship (reduced isolation),enjoyment and laughter, creativity, stimulation and physical activity through dance, movement and music. In addition participants, visitors and staff experience something new and very different which will uplift them and provide not only a source of entertainment but also a topic for conversation, making visits and the working day more enjoyable.

Do come back and visit me that was lovely”,

”I really enjoyed singing with you, when are you back?
