What we do, why we do it and how it works.
Since we started creating Joy with elders in 2013 we have provided successful training programmes for Hampshire County Council, Southampton City Council and Hampshire Hospitals Trust.
We are able to provide a range of in-house or off-site bespoke training. From day training, responding to a particular need, to working with providers to develop a more sustained approach. The training we offer is quite unique; not only do we share our pioneering approach to dementia arts wellbeing, we empower each trainee to step into their own presenter ‘style’’. Building on what comes naturally, we are able to build group dynamics and encourage a creative community which develops and nourishes the creativity and wellbeing of patients, residents, participants and staff from the inside out.”
All our bespoke training programmes include:
Evidence based practical exploration
Evidence based theoretical knowledge
Introduce staff to effective implementation of participatory arts to enhance wellbeing.
Empower staff to creatively provide Person-centred care.
Support dementia settings which embrace the arts as an affective, necessary and enjoyable daily occurrence.
In addition, some training options have included:
Introductory training days
Develop online forums to share valuable information
