In this newsletter, we introduce one of Joyful JAMS key members Rosa, and tell you all about our exciting new launch in Norfolk! Although we still can’t visit you yet, we’ve been busy behind the scenes coming up with innovative ways of bringing Joy to your elderly residents. Read on to find out what we’ve been up to…

Artistic Director Joyful JAMS CIC

Rosa moved to Norwich from Hampshire in 2020 and has been a JAMS facilitator since we first started. We’re very excited that she is now expanding the company to cover Norfolk.

Rosa offers person-centered sessions for people living with Dementia and training for those who work alongside them. She recently completed her Master’s degree in Dance Movement Psychotherapy and is a big fan of the benefits of movement for those living with Dementia.

Rosa developed our fabulous Movement and Music Resource Boxes and the training video in partnership with Musical Keys

Boxes full of fun!

We know the positive impact creative arts provide and that’s why we created our Covid-safe Movement and Music Resource Boxes. It means staff can continue to share appropriate activities with residents while we are unable to visit. Each box is packed full of easy to use and easy to clean movement equipment. It also comes with a DVD full of creative ideas and activities centred around 9 different themes, music and also practical instructions on how to use everything.

We’re fundraising

The last year has been difficult for all of us, but perhaps most difficult for elders living in care. Joyful JAMS are aware of how vital it is that residents are given the opportunity to be creative and expressive to ensure good physical and mental health.

With covid restrictions continuing to lift we are raising funds to enable our company to continue to provide safe entertainment for elders and we have several projects in the pipeline. Time for tea

We are delighted that the Royal Hampshire Country Hospital will make good use of the lovely vintage tea set JAMS have gifted them. There’s enough for a ward party when the time is right, but at the moment staff and patients can enjoy a quiet one to one cuppa in some quality china! Louisa is seen here with Nurse Hayden trying them out for size.

Joyful JAMS are so excited for the future and we have lots of exciting projects and ideas in the pipeline for both Hampshire and Norfolk… watch this space!
